Lisa, a native of Frederick County is a 5th generation Marylander. Community service, love for people, and the environment have been a driving factor in Lisa’s life. She recently moved full time to Annapolis in 2019 and loves being on and around the water.

Her current business, Amazing Space Design, LLC focuses on integrating her unique style of interior design with her passion and love of horticulture to create intimate residential garden rooms and artful commercial spaces. She earned a Master’s certificate in Landscape Design from The George Washington University in 2016, her undergrad from James Madison University in Fine Art and Interior Design in 1982, and was certified as a Professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She practiced as a professional Interior Designer from 1988 until 2005 and later offered her services pro bono after retiring her business.

As Co-Founder of the Ausherman Family Foundation in 2006, she worked diligently in engaging and supporting Non-profit organizations in Frederick County and leading philanthropic efforts in the community. She was Chair of the Foundation for 3 ½ years before retiring from the Board of Trustees spring of 2016.

In addition to a long history of volunteering and collaborating in the community and serving on several non-profit boards, committees and fundraising initiatives, she is an active member of the Rotary Club of Annapolis , a charter member and ongoing supporter of the Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County- serving both in leadership roles as Program Chair and Grants Chair, was co-creator of Frederick Alliance for Youth, RISE (Rotarian Initiative for Sucessful Employment), and is the catalyst and current Chair of the The Frederick Speaker Series, now in it’s eighth season at the Weinberg Center for the Arts which has brought over 42 nationally known speakers to its stage.

She received the Woman of Excellence award in 2015 from Frederick Commission for Women, the William Donald Shaeffer Helping People Award in 2012 from Peter Franchot, and Honor of the Good Samaritan in 2010 from Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Lisa is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Frederick County. She has two adult children of her own and 2 adult step children. Her hobbies include volunteering, travel, active sports and yoga, various water activities, culinary arts, gardening, and entertaining.
